What we often forfeit when we don't encourage our students and children to do a little research about their field of study, career paths, and the contributions of people like them is invaluable. This year is the year of storytelling, research, discovery, planning for a better tomorrow, and preserving cultural heritage, a crucial aspect of our collective identity. Teachers and parents, starting this summer, play a significant role in encouraging your students and children to be part of the innovation of a growth mindset, especially with the advent of AI. Parents can support their children by providing resources, guidance, and a supportive environment for learning.
The issue is not a lack of information. On the contrary, information is abundant. There is an information overload. However, as parents and teachers, we can help our children and students curate relevant information with a growth mindset. We can adapt and thrive in this environment. A growth mindset encourages resilience, perseverance, and a love for learning, which are crucial for personal and societal advancement. Nothing relevant to this age, our time or epoch, is new. The challenge for most people, particularly for the BIPOC community, is not knowing how to research and acquire relevant information, data, and evidence to support innovation and apply it to innovate. Information, knowledge, and data is power.
This was why great minds like Pythagoras and Democritus traveled far, such as to Egypt. Because of this, we now have geometry, which is essential in building the architectural phenomena of the ancient and present world, and Atomic Theory, a fundamental theory in chemistry and physics. Now, we are on the precipice of the age of quantum computing, where AI and the speed at which information is stored and transmitted will revolutionize education and our society as we know it.
Our community must harness and use AI, a new and fun technology, and innovate in writing or problem-solving. Teach our children how to use AI properly and prompt the AI, for instance, by asking it to generate ideas for storytelling, hidden stories, and history or to solve a complex math problem. Show them how to curate information by selecting the most relevant articles for a research project. Let's prioritize instilling a growth mindset early on, as it paves the way for future societal advancements and contributions. The earlier we instill this mindset, the more prepared our future generations will be for the challenges and opportunities ahead. # Education # Innovation # CulturalHeritage # AI # Research # Storytelling.
