Women in STEM: Making Strides in Biological Sciences!

Writer's picture: Ayo OlufadeAyo Olufade

During my conversation with Dr. Glady Delancey-Bolding, I asked, "In what area do you see women making significant strides, and how do we close the gender gap?" Dr. Gladys Delancey-Bolden states, "Women excel in the biological sciences. The growth in this field is due to its diverse pathways—whether it's microbiology, anatomy, physiology, or even medicine, a degree in biological sciences opens many doors. The field's relatability also plays a key role." For example, understanding anatomy and physiology connects directly to our bodies, while microbiology brings us closer to the fascinating world of microorganisms. It's not just about ease; it's about the numerous opportunities and relatable content that make biological sciences an appealing choice for many women. Let’s continue to support and encourage women in STEM by highlighting these diverse and relatable pathways. Together, we can close the gender gap and foster a more inclusive future in science and technology.
