Bridging the Gap: The Essential Role of STEM and Empowering Women in Science and Technology

In my conversation with Dr. Gladys Delancey-Bolding, we discussed a possible disconnect and surprising gap between the critical needs and importance of STEM education and careers in our society and the general public's recognition of their value. Could many people in the BIPOC communities not see the relevance and importance of STEM fields despite the integral roles that science, technology, engineering, and math play in everyday life—such as driving technological advancements, fostering innovation, and managing finances? This disconnect is puzzling, especially given the foundational nature of these disciplines in creating and sustaining modern society, according to Dr. Gladys Delancey-Bolding. However, addressing this gap must involve increasing awareness, improving education, and highlighting the impact of STEM through effective communication and representation.
