I am an educator. I have always wondered what ever happened to my former students in #steameducation. Do they ever follow through, pursuing careers in the STEAM fields?
So, this was why this podcast episode was extra special!
Finding the answer to this question carries many implications on many fronts.
I was privileged and honored to talk with Kritchana about the impact of her #steam experience in high school on her decision to pursue a degree in the STEM field and her interest in pursuing a career in the STEM field.
Kritchana is a third-year undergraduate student at the University of Maryland majoring in Public Health Science on a Pre-Pharmacy Track. We call her name is Kritch. She is also a certified nursing assistant with experience in small clinical, hospital, and home care experience.
She is an administrative researcher at the US Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Beltsville Human Nutrition Research Center.
While in secondary school, she volunteered and continues to volunteer in various STEM organizations, including hosting a STEM event at her local elementary and secondary schools to encourage young girls' interest in STEM fields.
In this episode of InTouch – Think STEAM Careers Podcast, I wanted to find out from Kritch what inspired her to want to give back to her community, encouraging young people and girls' interest in the STEM fields.
